1741 Scotland's Climate March and Rally a march from the Meadows in Edinburgh culminating with a rally at the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens

Join the worldwide movement marching for a better future. Ahead of the UN climate change negotiations in Paris, we’ll stand up for people affected by rising global temperatures and demand that world leaders agree an ambitious deal. A low carbon society will create green jobs, improve our transport and food systems and protect our land, air and water. Scotland needs to show its colours in Paris and beyond with strong action on climate change. Wear your brightest colours as Scotland marches on this weekend of global action. Everyone is encouraged to attend so please invite your friends, families and followers. The march is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS), a diverse coalition of organisations in Scotland campaigning together on climate change. Coalition members include environment, faith and international development organisations, trade and student unions and community groups.

2941 Tony Rooke: 'Incontrovertible' The Man Who Took The BBC Licence to Court and Won

In February 2013 documentary maker Tony Rooke took the licence fee to court under Article 3, Section 15 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on the basis that the BBC were complicit in the 9/11 cover-up and had deliberately misled the public in their broadcasting. His most recent documentary 'Incontrovertible' follows his challenge through the legal system of what he describes as 'a crime' by the BBC. Tony was given the opportunity to demonstrate to the judge that the BBC had quite deliberately lied to the British public about the events of that day, in particular their 'Conspiracy Files' programme. The fact that the BBC had foreknowledge and had reported on the collapse of WTC7 20 minutes before it happened formed the basis for his case that the licence was not appropriate. Tony was not fined and was allowed to walk away on a conditional discharge. killingauntiefilms.co.uk

99 Lefty Film Club Q&A with Dr Lee Salter, the director of the film The Fourth Estate

Lefty Film Club in association with Radical Film Network presents Fourth Estate, followed by a Q&A session with director, Lee Salter. The political discussion undertakenin this Q&A session will belivestreamed. Produced in the UK on a zero-budget, the filmmakers spent two years contacting and interviewing journalists, organisers and critics of the corrupt industrial practices highlighted by, but not limited to, the Leveson Inquiry in 2011. This opportunity for serious consideration of the true, entrenched causes and effects of the UK’s inadequate media must not go unexplored, and the recent press scandals must not be framed in terms of the “bad apple” soundbites we’re so often fed. The Fourth Estate examines the people and practices of the media industries. Illuminating not only specific incidences of corruption by press groups, but how the wider business as a whole, including the film and entertainment industries, has a huge amount to answer for in the state of the political economy of the west.

Chatting with a couple of organisers of the Edge Fund. We will be discussing what the Edge Fund is and their forthcoming Forum for Radical Sharing event in Glasgow. --- FROM THE EDGE FUND: Edge Fund offers two important methods of supporting grassroots activism: funding and skill sharing. We are organizing a Forum for Radical Sharing in Glasgow on Saturday, 14 November. If you would like to participate, we welcome you. We need to be clear that the Forum is not associated with the funding Edge provides. They are two separate things we do. This is an opportunity to share what you know about activism, to learn from other people, and to develop collaborations, partnerships, and friendships. It's about all the intangible things that create the foundations of social justice.

Stop the eviction on 28th November 2015 of the Stoddart family from their home and farm tenancy.

244 Demo to support Andrew Stoddart & stronger Land Reform Bill #‎justice4sto Stop the eviction on 28th November 2015 of the Stoddart family from their home and farm tenancy.

TO: NICOLA STURGEON, FIRST MINISTER OF SCOTLAND, AND IAIN GRAY, MSP FOR EAST LOTHIAN Stop the eviction on 28th November 2015 of the Stoddart family from their home and farm tenancy. Why is this important? Andrew and Claire Stoddart have been farming in East Lothian for 22 years. During this time they have invested heavily in infrastructure and buildings on their farm at Colstoun Mains, creating a profitable and well-managed business. The Stoddart family are an integral part of the community. Andrew and Claire are well liked, and their 3 children go to the local school, as do the 4 children of their employees. The Stoddarts have been asked to leave the farm by the end of November. Once evicted, the Stoddart family will be forced to move from the local area, laying off their two employees, and taking their children away from school and friends. They are to be given very little recompense for the investments they have made over their lifetime, leaving them both homeless and unable to buy a farm elsewhere. I urge you all to show your support by signing this petition to ask the Scottish Government to intervene and stop the forced eviction of the Stoddart family. I address this petition to Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, and Iain Gray, MSP for East Lothian. Some of the issues around this eviction are highlighted in the channel 4 news item at link below. You can see what Andrew Stoddart has to say at 6:33 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-6DzKzmFtA

FROM ORGANISERS FB PAGE: *** PLEASE NOTE SOME DETAILS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE OVER THE COMING MONTHS *** Greetings citizens of the world and Glasgow, We are Anonymous, and welcome to the 2015 event page for the Million Mask March Glasgow. This event is recognized worldwide as your chance to take a stand against those in power. The people who cover up their dreadful acts, by using the biased mainstream media to lure us away from the real truths. Who try to take our civil and human rights away, by driving us to poverty and making us ‘less’ than they are. The ones who rule, with no idea of what it’s like to be a ‘common man’. Well we are not less ! And we are more than common ! We are Legion! Anonymous is the answer. We are the fight, fighting back at the oppressors. Anonymous is not about the mask. Anonymous is about the idea. The idea that people like us can unite as one, and fight against the tyranny and oppression of those who have enslaved us and our minds. Anonymous has no leaders and no one in charge. What we have, is a collective of like minded individuals who are fed up fighting for scraps when we can be fighting against the Elite. They do not care for us, so we make them care. We make them listen. We are all one. Stop being angry about being able to do nothing, and join us. Use that anger. Use your voice. A wise man once said 'Like you I was forced to learn that there are those without decency, who must be fought without hesitation, without pity. Your anger gives you great power, if you use it wisely, and do not let it destroy you’ Our belief is that people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. At the end of the day they sit in their fancy houses, paid for by us, eating their lavish meals, which you can guarantee having no traces of horse/human meat, and prepared, by us. We are the ones with the real power, and without us the Elite would have NO ONE to rule, therefore would lose. When our eyes open, we see the real potential in ourselves. So do not think that you cannot make a difference. That you cannot change the world for the better. That is what they want you to believe. With the Million Mask March, you have the opportunity to let your voice be heard by the people, and the world ! Join us on the 5th of November, on a March from George Square to Glasgow Green, as we unite with brothers and sisters all over the world, to remind those in power that these streets, are OUR STREETS! 424 For an Independent Socialist Scotland An event organised by the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) in the Royal Overseas League, Edinburgh, to reject "Corbynmania" and "Nicolamania" in the debate on Scottish Independence and ask the question “Where now for the socialist left in Scotland?"

In recent months the Scottish political landscape has been completely transformed. The unexpected election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader has led some to conclude that Labour will now move left and promote socialist policies. But this will simply not happen. Jeremy Corbyn is a principled socialist but one who is a prisoner of the Blairite Parliamentary Labour Party. Equally the SNP is not about to move left either. Nicola Sturgeon is no socialist and neither is her party, regardless of her populism. Both Labour and the SNP are neo-liberal parties and both are keen to present their most ‘business friendly’ manifestoes in 2016. The SNP anti-austerity rhetoric does not reflect its actions: they plan £60m of cuts in services in Edinburgh, they have privatised Scotland’s non-domestic water contracts and sold off Edinburgh’s Sick Kids hospital to private companies. The Scottish Socialist Party states that it has not been carried away by “Corbynmania” or “Nicolamania”. They believe in an independent socialist Scotland. And they recognise there are no shortcuts to achieving it. The place for socialists is in a socialist party. There is an article in the National about this event and its timely topic (http://www.thenational.scot/politics/yes-activists-to-call-for-seminar-to-plan-winning-strategy.9520 )

349 Trade Union Bill Parliamentary Lobby

Lobby and rally, Protect the Right to Strike.Central Hall, Westminster, London. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and union members from all over the UK are coming together to lobby and rally against the trade union bill currently proposed by the government, which threatens the basic right to strike. This is a big opportunity to make sure MPs hear directly from people who are worried that the bill will undermine the right to strike and risk public safety and service quality. Trade Union representatives will meet up at Central Hall in Westminster to hear some inspirational speakers, and then in groups head off to the House of Commons to meet their MPs and explain why they should vote against the bill. The rally will kick off at 1pm and the lobby at 2.30pm.

Exactly two years on from the referendum, The Scottish Independence Convention are having a social event for all interested Indy groups to launch the next phase... to bring us all together, encourage dialogue, listen to some speeches, poetry, comedy and enjoy some music. We need all that energy, artistic endeavour, hard work and good old political discussion to get started again ( though it has never really gone away) and we need to establish a gathering place for all the groups, individuals, artists and ideas that made the Yes movement so vital in the journey towards self determination and Independence. Elaine C Smith will be hosting the many guests from across the country and the movement... and we will then be able to get down to some serious discussion about the way ahead.

The YES Movement A non party afiliated rally for Scottish Independence

The Yes Movement Rally on the 18th of September 2016, this is being held at Glasgow Green from 12pm until 8pm. This is going to be a day to remember. Why come? Why Volunteer? I would like to tell thee. Have any of you ever felt like you were here, to do something great with your life? Well you are and this is why we are all here. We are here to change the world. It is no easy task, but to us it is clear that the task is ours. That is why they called us the Bravest in all the stories. We will show the world there is another way to live, that social and cultural change is inevitable and that a new way of doing things is being birthed. A great human being once said 'Be the change you wish to see in the world'. For too long we have been realising that the entire system is corrupt. We have waited for those in power to change things, For someone to stand up and do what's right. None of them have, not really. We are creating this Movement together. As Humanity we can free ourselves from this system that none of us agreed to when we were born here, by taking our power back and in doing that, we show others how to free themselves from the Elitist system. To put it bluntly, the days of working to pay bills and die are over. We want more for ourselves and the generations to come. We stand for Equality, Contributing and Pioneering our own future. There are new way's to do things now and we all know that, we must venture into the unknown and discover 'HOW?' together. Please email [email protected] Your expertise as a wonderful human being is required if you are a First Aider, Stage Hand, Steward, Chaperone or you would like to set up a stall for the day. Please also feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions/ ideas, or if you would like to help us in anyway. All contributions are most welcomed. The system we live under is broken, we're not fixing it. We want to create a new one. Go bravely friends. We are the change bringers. Please Share this message, We look forward to hearing from you.

Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. (2016 Scottish parliament, 2017 Scottish council, 2019 English council and 2020 General election.) Join us on the Square with the message, #Indyref2 2018.

HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". Let’s seize the day in 2015. NOTE: Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver will be one of the speakers :) FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/

Red Road Flats Demolition RED ALERT DANGER DANGER Covering the controversial demolition of the Red Road Flats

ALSO here for protesters live stream within the danger zone http://livestre.am/5dlJI Highly contentious issue with many locals against the blowing up of these 6 flats at once and want them brought down floor by floor. The flats could still contain asbestos; they are very close to residential areas including a nursery and there is worry about water and gas pipes being burst. See WikiPedia link for more info and criticism of previous Red Row flats that have been blown up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Road_Flats

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
